How funky is your chicken? So very very funky! How loose is your goose? So very very loose! So come on everybody! Everybody's comin! And shake your caboose! And shake your caboose!
I was chanting this cheer (from my Ranger student section days) somewhat out loud in front of the deli counter as I was eyeing the 12 chicken breasts behind the glass that I needed. It was 8:30 at night and I normally don't cheer in empty grocery stores, or at all. I don't have a clue what any part of that cheer even remotely means. There are some arm-cranking-caboose-shaking-spirit-finger motions that pertain to that chant, but I won't show you the atrocity. It sure was fun to do that cheer in my Good Call-Bad Call tshirt that outraged some of the Ranger crowd (gasp!). You'd a thought we were burning couches in the parking lot. But really we were just about to make the opposing team's crowd feel uncomfortable and confused during our surprise RangerRoo performance.
Back to the deli counter. A head pops out of the cooler and a stern voice says, "Well I don't think my chickens are very funky, but how many can I get you?" He just heard my chanting and knows I'm such a loon and I don't even care. "Oh hi (insert embarrassed smile). Can I get 12, please?"
Wonder if he heard the caboose part? Who cares, I knocked out some Crock Pot Freezer Recipes last night. Like a boss. I found these recently online and had to share. I know they're from a "mom" website, and I'm not a mom, but my weeknights are pretty unpredictable and I bet yours are too. Kudos to this Mom for sharing these time-saver recipes. I started with the four below. Basically you get a ton of chicken breasts and a ton of fresh produce and throw them together (along with a few other staple ingredients) in gallon size ziploc bags. Label bags, compile ingredients and freeze. I love fresh produce, but it tends to go bad quickly with only two people in the house. These use up a big portion of hearty produce and you can enjoy it later with basically no weeknight prep - that's what I'm talking about!
After making a disaster of the pretty shot above, the bags will all look similar to this...
Enjoy and let me know what you think! Ps. Wouldn't these make great gifts for new parents or new neighbors? Or, stock some newlywed's freezer with a dozen of these!
Thunder and lightnin' Take two steps on back Crash, bash, ooo-whip-lash Ranger's got that knack Heehaw!
That one was for you, Mom and Aunt T&J.
